The fruit for this wine like our Cabernet is predominately from one single block of white grapes. This block is a mixture of Riesling Verdelho Chardonnay and Marsanne. This fruit ripens first each year and reaches optimum ripeness whilst retaining an elegant balance between flavour, alcohol and acidity well before the Shiraz. Again like the our Cabernet we have no control over the amount of each variety that goes into each vintage for this reason we call it a Field Blend. Our grapes are all hand picked
Tasting Note:
Excellent pale straw colour with a slight golden hue. The aromas are of fresh pear and Pink Lady red apples mixed with touches of musk, light honeysuckle and sweet spice. Delicious ripe pear and apple flavours give the wine an attractive silkiness to the mouth feel with musk and subtle spice the back ground. It finishes with a slightly dry brisk fresh acidity and a lengthy very satisfying after taste.
Drink over the next 1-2 years (2020-2022).
